I was introduced to Dr. Chokka at the Grey Nuns hospital. Severe depression is not anything to be taken lightly. After ECT in hospital and the side effects of lost memory, my depression eventually returned. Dr. Chokka told me about the Center and TMS (trans-cranial magnetic stimulation). After years of mediocre results with different medications, classes and treatments, the TMS worked with very fast results that are noticeable. This might not happen for everyone, but it works for me. Dr. Chokka and the staff at the Center are professional, personable, and have worked with me to develop a program that fits the person. Would I recommend Dr. Chokka and the Center? Yes, 5 stars.
The Chokka Center has changed my life. If you are looking for help with your emotional or mental well being, the Chokka Center has your back. The doctors are superb, the staff are welcoming and helpful, and the most important piece: they all work together in getting you well. I am so thankful for the Chokka Center and its support over the last few years. If you are looking for help; you’ve found it!
I have been a nurse for a long time. I am not easily impressed by doctors, however, I have been very, very impressed with the Chokka Center. Everyone connected is excellent. The assistant/administration people that you phone are really good: really, really good. They will listen to what you have to say and they respond very empathetically and reasonably. If you need to speak to your doctor right away – they will respond to that. My doctor is Dr. Chokka. I was skeptical at first, slow to trust, I thought I knew best. However, I was slowly, very slowly, completely impressed. Dr. Chokka listens!! He really listened to me. He heard me. He made suggestions and gave opinions, but never pushed them on me. He is now my trusted partner in my quest for good mental health. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and gentle. He is reliable. I feel like I have a “bridge” to safety. Also, I really like that he is holistic and encourages alternative treatments and lifestyle choices that promote good mental health.
Dr. Chokka has been a part of my life for over two decades and has walked beside me on my quest for mental health. It is said that without hope, there is nothing. Dr. Chokka has provided me with hope during my darkest days. He has also given me the gift of joy; joy that I would never have experienced without the medications and treatments he has prescribed. I consider him to be a trusted adviser, a confidant, and a friend. The Chokka Center uses a 360 degree care model. Through this approach I have come to understand that the road to mental health involves not only my mind, but my body and spirit. At the Chokka Center you will receive support from experts and staff that are kind and compassionate. Together you will develop a plan that will allow you to succeed in your own quest for mental health. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Chokka and the staff at the Center for helping me live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
